An association of supporters of Page Field Airport |
Fort Myers, Florida |
About |
The Page Field Association was founded in 1999 to serve as a forum for users and supporters of Page Field to communicate with each other; and to resolve problems and undertake initiatives that benefit the airport, and the community. The association’s ongoing responsibilities are to enhance and promote: Safe ground and flight operations; Communications among all users of the airport; Economic development of the airport; The value of Page Field to the community; Airport facilities development; and User relationships with government and public officials and organizations with influence over Page Field. Any person, business, or organization who uses Page Field is automatically a member of the Page Field Association. We do not collect dues, nor require a membership application. Our intent is to foster openness and communication among all users and to promote the airport. We believe it is vital that all user of the airport be represented in the association— aircraft owners, commercial operators, aviation clubs, airport-based businesses, flight schools, the air traffic control tower, and the Lee County Port Authority, which manages the airport. Some of the issues the association has been involved in are review of the airport master plan and Minimum Standard for Commercial Aeronautical Activities; commenting on proposed tall towers and other obstructions that could affect aircraft operations in the area; and planning and participating in airport open houses. The Page Field Association meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6:15 p.m. at EAA Chapter 66. Meetings are open, and everyone is urged to attend. Come and express your opinion and find out what is going on at Page Field, what is being planned, what your neighbors are doing, and how all of it might affect you and others. |
